KiaKia came to belly dance through her passion for Arabic music. One day while walking past an Egyptian imports store she was struck by the most lyrical, rhythmic, pulsating music she had ever heard. She purchased her first Arabic recording and started a long love affair with Arabic music. After discovering that belly dance was the way to dance to it, she began an 8-year journey of learning and exploring the most beautiful dance in the world. Since then, Kia has performed and taught dance in the US, Singapore, France, and London, at traditional dance venues like restaurants and nightclubs, as well as more exotic venues like a punk rock party on a boat, and a vampire party at a chateau in France.
